Assam Rifles Recruitment 2026: A Complete Career Counsellor''s Guide

Most aspirants in Kerala know the BSF, CRPF and CISF — but Assam Rifles, India''s oldest paramilitary force, is one of the most rewarding and least-crowded entry points into a uniformed career. If you have a 10th or 12th certificate, average physical fitness and the willingness to serve in the North-East, this is a recruitment worth your shortlist.

Why Assam Rifles deserves your attention #

  • Operationally controlled by the Indian Army — service conditions and ethos mirror the Army.
  • Lower competition ratio than CAPFs in southern states because awareness is low.
  • Regular promotions to Naik, Havildar, Sub-Inspector and beyond.
  • Pay starts at Pay Level-3 (₹21,700) plus DA, HRA, ration and risk/hardship allowances that often double the take-home.

Posts and educational eligibility #

Post Education Age
Rifleman/woman (GD) 10th pass 18–23
Rifleman (Technical) 10+2 with PCM 18–23
Rifleman (Tradesman) 10th pass + trade certificate 18–23
Personal Assistant Graduation + typing 20–25
Havildar Clerk 12th pass with 60% 18–25
Warrant Officer (Cook/Steward) 10th + experience 18–25

Age relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC and ex-servicemen as per the latest notification.

How SCFE Academy supports Assam Rifles aspirants #

At our Cherthala campus we run a focused Assam Rifles batch with daily PT on a 400 m track, separate streams for Technical and Tradesman candidates, mock CBTs in Hindi and English, and trade-test rehearsals for cooks, washermen and barbers. Our retired havildars and Inspector-rank mentors have served in Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram and walk you through real posting expectations.
