What is MNS? #

The Military Nursing Service is a commissioned officer cadre of the Indian Army that provides nursing care to soldiers and their families across military hospitals in India. You join as a Cadet during a 4-year B.Sc Nursing programme and graduate as a Lieutenant.

Eligibility #

  • Female, unmarried, Indian citizen
  • Age 17–25 as on the closing date
  • Class 12 with PCB + English, minimum 50% aggregate
  • Medically fit per Army standards

Selection process #

  1. Online MNS Entrance Test — English, General Intelligence, General Knowledge, Biology
  2. Personal Interview
  3. Medical Examination
  4. Merit-based admission to one of the Armed Forces Medical Services nursing colleges (CON Pune, INHS Asvini Mumbai, AFMC Pune etc.)

What you study #

A 4-year B.Sc Nursing curriculum, with full stipend, free uniform, books, boarding and lodging during training. After graduation you are commissioned as a Lieutenant.
