The two hardest months in a parent's life #
June after Class 10 and June after Class 12 — these are the two months that decide a child's next decade. They are also the months when parents are bombarded by every neighbour, relative and Instagram coach with conflicting advice. Here is a calm, 5-question framework to cut through the noise.

Q1. What does the child light up about? #
Not what they "should like" — what they actually open without being told. Sport? Code? Animals? Drawing? Mechanics? Write down 3 honest answers.
Q2. What do they hate? #
Equally important. A child who hates blood will not enjoy MBBS. A child who hates standing still will not enjoy 9–5 cubicle work.
Q3. What is the family's real financial bandwidth? #
Be honest. ₹4 LPA, ₹12 LPA, ₹40 LPA total college budget — each opens different doors.
- ₹0–4 L → Government college, scholarships, defence (NDA / TES), Agniveer, SSC MTS, RRB
- ₹4–12 L → Private engineering / nursing + add a Cyber Security course for placement edge
- ₹12 L+ → Private medical, foreign UG, premium engineering
Q4. What is the child's academic baseline? #
- 90%+ in Science → Medical / IIT track is realistic
- 75–90% in Science → State engineering, MNS, NDA, Coast Guard, Navy SSR
- 60–75% → Defence trades, Agniveer, SSC MTS, Nursing
- < 60% → ITI, RRB Group D, RPF, Skill courses
Q5. What kind of life does the child want at 30? #
Uniform and pension? Government office and stability? Private sector and growth? Foreign deployment? Ask the question. Listen without interrupting.
